a known startup-timing issue; usually just wait a few seconds for Flask to fully start; report it if it persists |
pywebview fails to install |
switch to Python 3.11 or 3.12; there's currently no available pythonnet wheel for Python 3.13+, and the program falls back to opening a browser automatically |
| COM Port fails to open | make sure no other program (e.g. the terminal window in STM32CubeIDE) is currently holding the port |
| Garbled text in CSV after opening | the CSV already uses utf-8-sig encoding; open it directly in Excel, no re-encoding needed |
The status bar's Frames OK stays at 0 / Bad keeps increasing |
check that the packet format (Header/Footer) matches the firmware's output; switch to Demo mode first to confirm the UI itself works |
| Want to check the UI's functionality without hardware on hand | use the toolbar's Demo button, or pair an existing log file with Replay mode |
| Replay plays too fast / too slow | use the toolbar's Speed (s) field to adjust the interval between packets; adjustable live during playback, 0 = full speed |
| Want to keep the raw data too, in case decoding is wrong | use the Save Raw TXT button to separately record a copy of the undecoded raw text |
Switched computers, the .exe won't open |
make sure plotly.min.js is in the same folder as the .exe (it isn't bundled inside the .exe) |
